“Sometimes you find yourself in the middle of nowhere, and sometimes in the middle of nowhere you find yourself.”

It is always the moments when I am by myself, out in the field with the quite peacefulness of nothing but the chirping of birds, and the smell of the fresh country air that I reflect on what an amazing life I have.

My life isn’t perfect, and I am glad it isn’t.  Every mistake or problem I have had throughout life has been a lesson in making me who I am today.  Farming has given me that ability to reflect on every aspect of my life.  I spend so much time in a tractor, by myself, and in each minute that I spend it allows me the opportunity to remember each good and each bad situation that has happened to me throughout my life, and to be able to take each situation and learn from it.

When I lived in the city I held an upper management position while making good money, but I just wasn’t happy.  I was always so stressed, extremely moody and miserable.  I don’t believe this was the healthiest way to raise my girls and I don’t ever regret making the decision to leave and come back to my small hometown.  I believe everything happens for a reason, whether this is true or not, it is how I live my life and it helps me assess each situation and take something away from it.  I believeI left that part of my life to move on to the part of my life now, that in all circumstances made me such a better person, wife and mother.  I needed my time out in the middle of nowhere to find myself, and myself it is I believe I have found.
